Concept of Flipped classroom

The flipped classroom inverts the tradition teaching method, where students learns the lesson by viewing prerecorded videos in the comfort of home environment (online), at their own pace and attends classroom for doing homework. Students apart from viewing the lecture also get a chance to engage in active discussion with peers and instructor via online discussion.

Watching online videos to learn may sound weird, but think about the interaction and the meaningful learning activities that occur during the face-to-face time while students do their homework with proper guidance. This way teacher get a chance to focus attention on each and every student, supporting them in whatever way needed. This concept has truly individualized learning for students.

  1. I really like the idea of a flipped classroom! This is not something that I have a lot of previous knowledge or experience with but I would love to learn more. What I don’t know is what would be the best and easiest way to set something like this up. Would something like Edmodo be a good way? Or is there a better way to create a flipped classroom?
